Technicolor Desert

When you drive through the southwestern United States, the long stretches of highway, the heat rising from the dusty earth, and the strange colors (if it’s not what you’re used to) start to feel almost like another planet. Like a strange and distant world that’s bigger and quieter than ours. Even the colors feel like you’re seeing them for the first time.

In this collection, Paige took a series of photographs across Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado using a Nikon D3000. She manipulated the images to convey the dream-like, alien feeling she experienced in the desert. The colors are brighter, the landscape harsher, and the skies surreal.
